Designed and created with children for children, Bilingual Games
cards excite children into language learning.
The inspiration for Bilingual Games came from a 16 year old,
who invented Français Snap as a way to teach her younger
brother French. With the help of the Ideas Foundation, a charity
promoting creativity in young people, the designs were
developed and one student was chosen to work alongside
our designer to produce the inital Français Snap range.
The idea of working with children and young people to develop
products is fundamental to our ethos. By listening to
teachers we are learning how to develop that product as an
effective teaching aid supporting the MFL curriculum.
Thanks to the students of John Stainer Primary School and
Kidbrook School in London, Abraham Guest High School
and its Primary Feeder Schools in wigan and the Ideas Foundation.

"This is a fantastic resource and introduction to a foreign language.
we will certainly be using Français Snap when we introduce French
to all key stage 2 pupils next year".
Sue Riddle-Harte, Head Teacher, John Stainer Community Primary
In trials pupils gave Français Snap 100% saying that it was
the best resource in the Speak French Club
"It worked for my year twos. They really enjoyed it, asking if they could
play it again. As an introduction to French it is a really fun way for
the children to begin to build up a basic core vocabulary."
Julia Morgans, Teacher, Brassington Primary School, Derbyshire
"It is wonderful to see the entrepreneurial skills of our primary age
children being supported, and their educationally creative ideas
brought to fruition in this way."
Sue Riddle-Harte, Head Teacher, John Stainer Community Primary
"The impact of pupils designing products as part of the curriculum
is the way schools need to go. To use this enterprise to benefit
their younger peers is even better".
Julia Morgans, Teacher, Brassington Primary School, Derbyshire
"Iam using it with my Key Stage 3s. It is a great starter and gets them
interested. I have designed my own curriculum materials that work with
the cards, so we use them all the time."
Nikki Mangidis, French Teacher, Abraham Guest High School, Wigan.
"At first the children didn't recognise the words but by the end of the session
they had learned all the words. We have used the words to produce a French
wall display. As a teaching assistant I have found this a very useful resource."
Jan Pinkney, Teaching Assistant, Lewisham.
